Seraphina's Wand

- Is a new Social Enterprise Organisation, based in Brighton and founded by mural artist Geniene Burchett. The aim of our voluntary team is to bring hope and colour into the lives of disadvantaged children using the healing powers of art and creativity. Together with the children themselves, we design and paint murals on the walls of hospices, hospitals and homes for children with physical and/or learning disabilities and terminal illnesses.
- Proceeds from private commissions along with our other fundraising activities allows us to cover the expenses for low income families with ill or disabled children at home.
- The work of Seraphina's Wand is supported by an dedicated group of volunteers. In addition to our work in the UK we aim to generate enough funds to take our skills abroad. Such as the work Geniene did after the Tsunami, helping survivors to recreate thier lives, businesses and homes.
- We also support Local Artists who would like to join the team!

At present a percentage of the proceeds will be helping a worthy programme in
Sri Lanka please see more here.
Pandula is a Sri Lankan child psychologist who wasn't working when I met him as he had run out offunding. I helped support his business by getting it up and running again and he now runs five children's programmes a week, donating his time and expertise to orphanages across south west
Sri Lanka. I also helped secure funding from Germany which has finished in Sept 2007. We are now looking for a new sponsorship for him.

Survival.org

- Since 1969, the 'developed' world's attitude to tribal peoples has changed beyond recognition. Then, it was assumed that they would either die out or be assimilated; now, at least in some places, their experience and values are considered important. Survival has pushed tribal issues into the political and cultural mainstream. This, perhaps, is our greatest achievement of all, but there are many barriers of racism, tyranny and greed which we must still overcome.
- Our educational programmes aimed at people in the 'west' or 'north' set out to demolish the myth that tribal peoples are relics, destined to perish through 'progress'. We promote respect for their cultures and explain the contemporary relevance of their way of life.
- Survival runs worldwide campaigns to fight for tribal peoples
- We provide a platform for tribal representatives to talk directly to the companies which are invading their land
Thank you for your compassion and time
