Goddess Temple Dancers

Welcome

‘The Sacred Challis’

The sacred challis references  the true nature of our wombs, reminding us of its magical, creationist properties. It draws our attention to our whole bodies as sacred vessels, for when we invite union with spirit, it is within the challis of our flesh that we meet. It also describes the bowls with which we dance - the hosts to spirit and element.

That all we create may reflect love, balance, compassion, respect and true understanding.

"Dancing with my inner goddess is just magical,

I feel I have finally come home,

I feel blessed deeply to have found myself on this long awaited magical journey of self appreciation and respect, surrounded by so many inspirational and supportive women has allowed me to discover the true sacred sexual feminine self within"

quote ~ one of the ladies who has been Temple dancing

************

When we come together through sacred temple dance
we raise the temple of the goddess through our united energy. The path of the devotee describes a path of polarity – f
rom being a hand maiden in service to the temple, to embracing the responsibility of the priestess in bringing the divine feminine in all Her Grace to bear here on earth.

To achieve this state we celebrate all that is feminine, by loving, honoring and cultivating the beauty of our own bodies.

"Sainttina has a true essence about her, she is beautiful through and through and inspires those ladies who join the circles to be true open and in touch with their deep inner connection and love forthemselves, often so deeply hidden, I feel a power inside i forgot i had Thank you Sainttina"

quote ~ one of the ladies who has been Temple dancing

************
Inseparable in this work is the sacred and the sexual. The
spirit of the divine feminine is not separate from earthly bliss,

it is embraced as part of the whole. The bringing forth of life from woman’s womb, is a miracle of creation. Sexuality is the energy that provides the spark. It is an endlessly renewable, divinely pleasurable, raw source of alchemic material.  We work consciously with this energy, also known as tantric energy, learning to hold, refine, rejuvenate and awaken our higher selves.

Further, the nature of human sexuality is one of union,
whether that is union of one’s own masculine and feminine, the union of lovers, or union with universal spirit. As the work progresses, each of these relationships will be explored.

While this moment in time is inviting us to raise the vibration al strength of the feminine divine, it is also the moment to seek out and create a true union of feminine and masculine energy.

The temple work has found a spiritual home in Iford, on a site recognised by the ancients, next to a 1000 year old church.
As many of you know the last workshop was significantly oversubscribed, but I am so happy with our new space. This does place a limitation on numbers, so as I can’t enlarge the hall I am going to expand the workshop format.

The current format was formulated to provide an introduction to the work -to get the flavour and form. I am now going to offer, in addition to the day workshops, a weekend workshop, Weekend workshops we will be able to explore the exercises more completely, providing a deeper and more expanded experience. You will need to have completed a day workshop before doing the weekend.

Whilst I am running introductory sessions I am offering a discount

For everyone the first session is £25, then if you bring a friend to a subsequent session it is £15 for you at that session.

This works on a number of levels for us all by sharing, spreading and strengthening the practice. This devotional work has at its centre an infra- structure of exercises. I have deliberately made the workshops affordable so that it is possible to get the benefit of repetition.

Places must be confirmed in advance, as numbers are limited.

There will also be a candle ceremony on the 2nd of February – Inbolc, or the feast of Brigid (see below). Ceremonial work will be by donation, so that I can cover the cost of hall hire, but other than that there will be no other fee to pay.

* Inbolc; Candlemas; Taoist New Year

Inbolc, otherwise called Brigid. Inbolc or Brigid is the festival of the waxing light. The days begin to grow longer, the sun is visibly stronger. Brigid was the Celtic goddess of water and fire, the holy well and the sacred flame. She presided over all forms of sacred fire, and inspiration.

Each year we create a holy well, a bowl of sacred waters gathered from many places and rituals. We place a cauldron of fire within, and make a pledge for the year.

As the light grows stronger, may our commitment to life, to justice, to healing our selves and community and the earth also grow. (Starhawk)
